The study of several approaches to different second residence Villas on the coast of Sandalo (Costa Rica) responds to the will to support the doctrine of Modern Movement and adapt it to a tropical context. The different types of houses are designed of several measures and they make permeability between inside and outside its leitmotiv. The houses have wooden ceilings and large wicker become porches, and should promote community life and air currents towards create a cool atmosphere. Gardens and pools are integrated into the architecture, which reflect the facades. The various models separate “service space” from the served ones, both inside and outside the house. Recently we have been asked to reduce the dimensions of the prototypes in order to a better marketing. The key question, in this case, is how far space can be reduced without losing its status?
