Façade in Travessera de Gràcia

A façade without sills, from floor to ceiling.

The proximity of the building we built opposite, on the corner of Travesera and Amigó St made the residents invite us to the restricted competition organised among four offices to propose a new design of the street facade. The current facade is a curtain wall of the fifties that is not according any thermal regulations, but aesthetically it’s not so bad with its fine iron profiles. Tinted glass Parsol allows support against different interior furniture. To try to reproduce the original image we propose to use a facade without sills, floor to ceiling, with the same modulation (we do not know where are the interior partitions, in each of the offices levels. Our proposal is to use the SG 52 series Cortizo house that allows making windows that project outward hide profile and hardly see any joint between the various fixed and the projecting parts of the facade. The competition has never been missed: no winner… no works to do. That’s what you have to do for free this type of work.
