The Palace

Included in the Barcelona Heritage Guide, after our renovation.

Perhaps the most published and awarded of our projects, “The Palace” is, in fact, three buildings which measure nearly 6,000 ㎡. The palace-now-office space at the junction of Diagonal and Rambla de Catalunya, an old building where which you have turn around to open the windows facing the patio looking out on the street and the nexus of the union – the former coach house, has now been converted into the headquarters for an important packaging and corporative design company.

The new metal facade will be used as a background for the old building whose windows are read as a single large empty space to counter the borders of the remaining windows, floor by floor. Only by being able to make architecture more transparent will we architects help make society more transparent.
